What Is CDBS?
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule is a Medicare program that covers up to $1,158 every two years for eligible children from birth to age 17.
If they qualify, your child receives the following treatments at no cost:
- Dental exams and check-ups
- Professional cleaning
- Dental x-rays
- Dental sealants
- Fillings
- Root canal treatment
- Extractions
CDBS does not cover cosmetic dental treatments or orthodontics, but our clinic offers several payment options, including health funds and Afterpay.
Determining Your Child’s Eligibility
To qualify for CDBS, your child must meet the following criteria:
- They must be between zero and 17 years old for at least one day of the year.
- They must be eligible for Medicare.
- Their family must receive an eligible government payment, such as Family Tax Benefit Part A, for at least one day of the year.
Applying for CDBS
You don’t have to apply for CDBS; in fact, you’ll be notified if your child qualifies.
